In a joint initiative, the Max Planck Institute for Chemical Ecology, the Friedrich Schiller University, Jena, the Leibniz Institute for Natural Product Research and Infection Biology and the Leibniz Institute of Plant Genetics and Crop Plant Research are offering an international PhD program. This International Max Planck Research School (IMPRS) gives PhD students the possibility to prepare for their PhD exam in a structured program providing excellent research conditions. The doctoral degree will be granted by the Friedrich Schiller University, Jena. The courses of the IMPRS are held in English.
The overarching topic of the Research School in Jena is the use of molecular and chemical techniques to experimentally explore ecological interactions under natural conditions. The PhD program is open to students holding a Master's degree or equivalent in molecular biology, bioinformatics ecology, entomology, (bio)-chemistry, microbiology or related field.
