The Research Laboratory within the Clinic of Hematology, Oncology, and Clinical Immunology is located in the Medical Research Center I (MFZ1, building 13.58) and the Preclinical Research Complex (HHU Vorklinik, building 22.04). Our research focuses on Experimental Oncology and Clinical Immunology, and Functional Precision Medicine.
Our methodology encompasses single- and multi-cell-OMICS, such as Genome, Transcriptome, Proteome, and Metabolome analyses. We perform multi-parameter immunohistology using CODEX (CO-Detection by indEXing), analyze the immune receptor repertoire (BCR/TCR repertoire NGS), and drug screening technologies.
Our in silico data on immune repertoires, transforming events, pathway dependencies, tumor plasticity and vulnerabilities in hematologic cancers are integrated by mathematical modelling, and validated in ex vivo functional analyses of primary cells, cell lines, and 3D culture models. Our ultimate goal is the translation of biology-based treatment strategies into precision medicine for blood cancer.
