The laboratory of Professor Christoph Thiele, working in the field of Cell Biology of lipids is seeking to fill immediately
Two Ph.D. positions
with highly motivated, dedicated and energetic students.
The offered projects focusing on hepatic lipid metabolism in mouse and human are funded for 3.5 years by the BMBF (German Federal Ministry of Education and Research) through the large research initiative “Virtual Liver Network”. The salary (1/2 E13) and appointment terms are determined by the German TV-L conditions.
We are looking for two students holding a recent excellent university degree, M.Sc. or German Diploma (candidates about to obtain such a degree are welcome to apply) wishing to advance towards a Ph.D. within the International Graduate School Life & Medical Sciences (LIMES).
Special consideration is given to applicants with experience in one of the following areas: Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Chemical Biology or Medicinal Chemistry of lipids.
Lab alumni can expect to acquire a wide range of skills, to publish high-impact papers, and be in an excellent position to transition into academic or industrial careers.
