Research Associate / PhD Student (m/f/x)
(subject to personal qualification employees are remunerated according to salary group E 13 TV-L)
starting
March 1, 2025. The position comprises 50% of the full-time weekly hours and is limited to 3 years within the CRC 1415 projects
“2D Conjugated Polymers: π-Conjugation, Nontrivial (Opto)Electronic and Magnetic Properties” (A01). The period of employment is governed by the Fixed Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz - WissZeitVG). The position aims at obtaining further academic qualification (usually PhD).

Activities and responsibilities
development of 2D conjugated polymers and covalent organic frameworks (COFs) with unique structural, electronic and magnetic properties by bottom-up organic synthesis; characterization of the new materials using X-ray diffraction, spectroscopy, and other methods; organizational tasks within the DFG project.
Qualification profile
university degree (M.Sc. or equivalent) in chemistry, organic/polymer chemistry, materials science, or similar; good understanding of synthetic chemistry, basic understanding of structural analysis and physicochemical properties; very good interpersonal and communication skills; in particular, the ability to effectively work in collaborative research efforts; an independent, target- and solution-driven work attitude; inter- and multidisciplinary thinking; strong motivation; fluency in English - written and oral.
