(Senior) Business Development Manager Protein or Viral Vectors (m/f/d)

ProBioGen AG is a premier Contract Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) specializing in the development and manufacturing of complex biopharmaceuticals. With a two focal points - proteins and viral vectors. One focus lies on monoclonal antibodies, bi-/multispecifics and other proteins whereas the other focus is on viral vectors for vaccines, gene therapy, and genetically modified cell therapies. For both business branches are we offering a comprehensive suite of services for biopharmaceutical product development, analysis, and manufacturing.
We are now looking for two dynamic and experienced Business Development Manager to increase our sales efforts in both our protein business unit and our viral vector business unit.
As a Business Development Manager at ProBioGen, you will be responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities, within the therapeutic protein or viral vector field.
Your role will involve the proactive acquisition of international clients and the commercialization of our services and technologies. You will act as the face of ProBioGen at industry events and conferences, building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders and partners.
What you create
- Proactive Client Acquisition: Identify and acquire new international customers in the areas of vaccine development and cell, and gene therapy or for complex biopharmaceutical projects.
- Commercialization of Services: Actively promote and commercialize ProBioGen’s cutting-edge services and technologies, focusing on the development, analysis, and manufacturing of proteins or viral vectors.
- Networking & Representation: Represent ProBioGen at international conferences, trade shows, and industry events to build a strong network and enhance the company’s global presence.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients, ensuring their needs are met and providing tailored solutions to their development challenges.
- Market & Competitive Analysis: Conduct thorough market research and competitive analysis to stay ahead of industry trends to support business strategies.
- Collaboration with Internal Teams: Work closely with R&D, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure alignment between business development efforts and technical capabilities.
What you bring along
- Master’s degree in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or a related field; PhD is a plus
- Proven experience in business development, preferably in a CDMO or biopharmaceutical environment (min. 3 years)
- Proven experience in either one of our business units:
For the protein business unit:
- Deep understanding of manufacturing for clinical studies
- Strong understanding of the biopharmaceutical industry, with a focus on large molecules
For the viral vector business unit:
- For Strong understanding of the biopharmaceutical industry, with a focus on viral vectors for vaccines and cell and gene therapies
- Demonstrated success in acquiring and managing international clients for complex projects
- Excellent networking and relationship-building skills, with experience representing companies at international industry events
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to conduct market and competitive analysis
- Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus
- Willingness to travel internationally as required
