The Position
We are looking for a dedicated and inspiring leader for the role of Associate Director in Global Medicinal Chemistry located in Biberach. This position offers the opportunity to join a collaborative and innovative team, working on groundbreaking projects to shape the future of our NCE delivery pipeline. You will play a key role in advancing therapies for challenging disease targets in Immunology and Respiratory (I&R), leveraging cutting-edge modalities.
Associate Director - Global Medicinal Chemistry
Tasks & responsibilities
- In your new role, you will be a role model for teamscience, setting scientific priorities and developing a group of up to eight Research/Senior/Principal Scientists and their laboratories.
- You will achieve scientific breakthroughs and advance the I&R portfolio with a special focus on the area of new indications.
- Furthermore, you will be responsible for hiring, mentoring and promoting scientists in the department and the organization.
- You will lead and drive global strategic initiatives through a strong internal network.
- In addition, you will be an active part of design teams and contribute to impactful, yet resource efficient design strategies.
- Together with the section head manager, you will be responsible for managing and allocating resources according to project needs.
Requirements
- PhD in synthetic organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry or similar
- Longstanding experience in the industry (biotech or big pharma) with a leadership position
- Experience in the field of novel therapeutic modalities is an advantage
- Extensive track record in innovation, demonstrated by milestone transitions, patents and impactful publications
- Proven ability in cooperation and team leadership across functions and effectively lead teams, to motivate and inspire others
- Fluency in English; German is an advantage
