The Institute of Pathology of the University Hospital Düsseldorf is looking for a new position from 01.01.2025 until 31.08.2027.
Bioinformatician (m/f/d)
The appointment is made within the framework of the Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz (WissZeitVG according to § 2 para. 2) initially for a limited period until the end of the project on 31 August 2027.
In the consortial ENDOFERT project on endometriosis funded by the BMBF, a sub-project is dedicated to spatial transcriptomics. Technologies such as COSMX (Nanostring), Xenium (10x Genomics) or CODEX assays are used. In addition, scripts will also be developed using open source tools (QuPath, ImageJ etc.).
The project analyzes the microenvironment of endometriosis, which will be compared with previous experience in the field of carcinogenesis. Integration with the Bio-Informatics Core Unit and international network partners also enables rapid access to the topic. The instrumental equipment offers excellent starting conditions due to the acquired digital tissue microarray platform and the GPU expansion of the HPC infrastructure at the Düsseldorf site.
Your area of responsibility:
- Bioinformatic processing and analysis of spatial OMICS data sets
- Establishment of required bioinformatic analysis software in close coordination with the core bioinformatics unit
- Interface management between TMA platform, CUBI, Core Unit Spatial Omics.
- Basic bioinformatic data analysis of sequencing data
Your profile:
- Completed university degree (Master or PhD) in bioinformatics, computational biology or a related field
- Interest in interdisciplinary research
- Experience in project management
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
- Strong ability to work in a team
